Call for Papers

SOFSEM is an annual winter conference devoted to the theory and practice of computer science. The conference traditionally focuses on the latest results and developments of fundamental research in computer science (informatics), inspired by the algorithmic challenges of our time. SOFSEM has a long tradition as a high-quality research conference, and a venue where researchers from academia and industry in all stages of their career can share their insights.

The 52nd SOFSEM will be held February 2–5, 2027 as a physical event in Ioannina, Greece. An on-site pre-conference PhD school on Graph Algorithms and Geometry will be held on Monday, February 1, 2027. The proceedings will be published in the series Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) by Springer. Additionally, authors of selected papers presented at the conference will be invited to submit extended versions to a special issue of the Discrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science.

Submission Guidelines and Proceedings

SOFSEM 2027 proceedings will be published in the subseries ARCoSS (Advanced Research in Computing and Software Science) of the Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series of Springer. Contributors are invited to submit an extended abstract of up to 12 pages in Springer LNCS format (www.springer.com/lncs), including title and abstract, but excluding references. Proofs omitted due to space restrictions must be placed in an appendix, to be read by program committee members at their discretion.

Papers must be submitted electronically through EasyChair. The submission server is: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=sofsem2027

No prior publication or simultaneous submission to other conferences or journals are allowed (except preprint repositories such as arXiv or workshops without formal published proceedings). Submissions are not anonymous.

Authors will be required to submit their accepted papers to the arXiv repository at the same time as submitting their camera-ready versions, in order to provide immediate and unrestricted open access to their papers. The self-archived arXiv papers should consist of (essentially) the LNCS proceedings version plus an optional clearly marked appendix.

At least one author of each accepted paper is required to present the paper at the conference. Also, an individual registration is required for each accepted paper.
