Present CFP : 2014

Aims, Topics and Call for Papers

The yearly Multiple Access Communications (MACOM) international workshop is the gathering point for the research community interested in communication over shared channels. It accommodates several interrelated disciplines such as PHY-layer multiple access, MAC-layer protocols, multi-user information theory, queueing theory, modelling, analysis and simulation.

The topics of special interest for the 2014 of the MACOM workshop include, but are not limited to:

Smart, adaptive and self-configurable MAC/PHY protocols.
Cooperative and collaborative MAC/PHY protocols.
MAC/PHY protocols for multi-hop and relay-based networks.
Cognitive radio networks, software radio, dynamic spectrum access and channel bonding techniques.
MAC/PHY protocols supporting MIMO, spatial multiplexing and transmit diversity techniques.
Energy-aware MAC/PHY protocols.
Scheduling and radio resource management, including inter and intra network coexistence techniques.
MAC/PHY solutions for M2M-type communications in Broadband Wireless Networks (LTE, WIMAX).
Queueing networks of shared access communication systems.
Game-theoretic queueing models for non-cooperative access on shared channels.
Control of queueing models for multiple access communications.
Green queueing models to assess energy/performance tradeoffs.
Information-theoretic security.
Network information theory.
Multi-user information theory.
Multi-terminal information theory.

The papers to the MACOM 2014 workshop can be submitted here

Special session on “Video coding without borders” is organized at the MACOM 2014 workshop.

The main goal of this special session is to bring together researchers working outside the traditional hybrid video coding concept based on 2-D transform and block-based motion compensation. We provide a forum for ideas exchange and inspire students and other researchers to create a new ideas in the field.

The topics of special session interest include, but are not limited to:

Video coding using 3-D/4-D wavelet/cosine transforms.
Distributive video coding.
Fractal video coding.
Video coding using underdetermined blind source separation.
Video coding based on compressed sensing.
Motion-compensated temporal filtering.
Multi-source and 3D video coding.
Joint source-channel video coding.
Multiple-description video coding.
VLSI, GPU and multi-core video codec’s architectures design.
Comparison of different video coding schemes.
