The Portuguese Ministry of Economy's Research Office (GEE) has opened a Call for Papers in the area of Competitiveness and Internationalization, in partnership with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

We would, therefore, invite you to submit scientific articles on the Portuguese Economy under this call and ask you to disseminate and encourage your tutored students or other researchers to do so.

The main objective is a contribution to the identification of problems and to the implementation of economic policy solutions in Portugal.

The articles will be subject to a pre-selection, after the submission of a proposal or draft article and, if accepted, may be submitted with the following deadlines for the two phases:
- 1st stage - Proposal or draft manuscript submission: July 20, 2017
- 2nd stage - Manuscript submission: October 20, 2017

The call awards a prize of €3,000 to the 4 best works presented, depending on the participation in a conference.

In addition, parallel invitations are also promoted for publication in a special issue of the Portuguese Economic Journal (PEJ), in 2018, of 3 to 5 articles of high scientific quality that will also be awarded a value of €3,000 each. On this regard, a special session will be held during the annual conference of the Portuguese Economic Journal, which will take place in Lisbon in July 2018, where the awarded works may be presented.
