Services Transactions on Big Data (STBD) http://www.hipore.com/stbd/ Big Data has become a valuable resource and mechanism for the practitioners and researchers to explore the value of data sets in all kinds of business scenarios and scientific work. New computing platforms such as cloud computing, mobile Internet, social network are driving the innovations of big data. From government initiative perspective, Obama Administration in United States launched "Big Data" initiative that announces $200 Million in new R&D investments on March 29, 2012. European Union also announced "Big Data at your service" on July 25, 2012. From industry perspective, IBM, SAP, Oracle, Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, and other leading software and internet service companies have also launched their own innovation initiatives around big data. The Services Transactions on Big Data (STBD) includes topics related to the advancements in the state of the art standards and practices of Big Data, as well as emerging research topics which are going to define the future of Big Data, including strategy planning, business architecture, application architecture, data architecture, technology architecture, design, development, deployment, operational practices, analytics, optimization, security and privacy. Submission Authors are invited to submit original, unpublished extended versions of papers published from related reputable conferences. At least 30% of new substantial content must be added from the published conference versions. A cover letter must be submitted together with the journal version and conference version, explaining in detail the extension and difference between the journal version and the conference version. Submitted manuscripts will be limited to 12-16 pages, and REQUIRED to be formatted using the STBD Word template in Microsoft Word format or the STBD Latex template in Latex format. The submitted papers can only be in the format of PDF. An electronically submitted abstract will be required prior to the submission of the full paper. Electronic submission of manuscripts is required. Submissions should include paper title, abstract, name of authors, their affiliations, and email addresses. Once your paper is accepted, you must submit your final paper in PDF format for camera-ready production. One of the objectives of the Services Transactions on Big Data (STBD) is to promote research accomplishments and new directions. STBD welcomes special issues in any emerging areas of big data. Each special issue's proposal includes the name of the special issue, short bios of guest editors, a draft of Call for Papers, potential authors and related events such as conferences. For an extended version of a conference paper, it is required that you have added at least 30% of new results in your journal paper. It is also recommended that you should articulate a better paper title for your journal version.
