Electromobility has the potential to contribute significantly to a reduction of CO2 emissions and can thus play a major role in the global endeavor to protect the environment, if the electric car can make its way to the mass market. The principle feasibility of electric vehicles was demonstrated many times in the past, starting in the 19th century. Larger efforts were undertaken in the 1970s as a reaction to the oil crisis, and in the 1990s motivated by the Californian zero-emission law. However, series-production was not reached. Today, the ecologic and also the economic pressure to develop an alternative to fossil fuels is even higher.
This conference focuses on the key components of electric vehicles * Power Electronics * Drives * Batteries In addition, the design and the requirements for automotive use as well as the suitability for mass production will be assessed. Mission reliability and costs are key issues. New materials, modular and flexible concepts and scalability are interesting topics. |
