ICWE 2020. CALL FOR WORKSHOPS PAPERS
https://icwe2020.webengineering.org/workshops/
********************************************************

Due to the current pandemic situation, ICWE workshops will be held online next June, 9, 2020. Workshops papers will be published by Springer as a post-proceedings volume. We would like to encourage authors to submit papers to prevent the virus from breaking the tradition of the conference by limiting the possibilities of exchanging experiences and knowledge.

Important Dates
============

- Submission deadline: 10 May, 2020 (23h 59 Hawaii Time)
- Notification of acceptance: 15 May, 2020 (23h 59 Hawaii Time)
- Workshop Day: 9 June, 2020

1st International Workshop on Web of Things for Humans (WOT4H 2020)
*************************************************************************************
Website: http://wot4h.spilab.es/

During the last few years the deployment of smart devices has been massive. This trend is expected to continue and even increase over the next few years. However, this deployment has also been fostered by specific companies creating closed environments. The WoT and IoT paradigms were conceived to make people’s life easier by integrating different devices and adapting them to people’s needs and preferences. In these closed environments, this integration and adaptation becomes difficult or even impossible to achieve, greatly limiting the benefits of these paradigms. This integration poses some questions that need further discussion from researchers: How devices from different manufacturers can be integrated? How the data sensed/stored in different devices can be integrated? How that information can be used to identify the users’ preferences or their activities? How this information could be used to adapt smart devices’ behaviour? This workshop will be a forum for academics, industrial researchers, developers, and practitioners to discuss challenges and advances in Internet of Things and Web of Things. It will be specially focused on “The Web of Things for Humans”, improving the interoperability and adaptation of smart devices to Humans.

2nd International Workshop on Semantics and the Web for Transport (Sem4Tra 2020)
***************************************************************************************************
Website: https://sem4tra.linkeddata.es/

Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) integrates different transport services into a single mobility service. The goal is to provide a traveler with all the services needed for a door-to-door travel under a single payment whilst integrating disparate modes of mobility (public transport, car- or bike-sharing, taxi/car rental, or a combination thereof) under one travel experience. After years of conceptualization and strategizing, MaaS is becoming a reality rather than a future goal. However, many challenges remain unanswered. The development of multimodal travel information, planning and booking services, and the interoperability between business applications are currently limited due to the fragmentation and incompatibility of interchange formats and protocols both within and across transport sectors. The foundation of semantic web and the technologies such as RDF and Linked Data, foster utilization and application of the semantics of terms in a decentralized fashion on web-scale. Given the decentralized nature of MaaS, this workshop targets researchers and practitioners who are contributing to the transformation of the transportation sector by proposing new semantic and Web API based solutions to achieve the MaaS objectives. The workshop is an opportunity for disseminating and discussing use cases and studies showing the application of semantic and web technologies in the Transport domain to tackle the above-mentioned challenges.

6th International Workshop on Knowledge Discovery on the Web (KDWEB 2020)
********************************************************************************************
Website: http://www.iascgroup.it/kdweb2020.html

This workshop is focused on the field of Knowledge Discovery from digital data, with particular attention for Data Mining, Machine Learning, and Information Retrieval methods, systems, and applications. We solicit papers coming from communities that share the interest in the analysis of data that are obtained from the World Wide Web. The scope of the papers can vary widely from theoretical issues such as methods of knowledge extraction, to direct applications, with basis on experimental investigations, and in real-world cases. At large, the workshop Is meant to collect investigations that concern both traditional and novel applications of the world wide web, including social, semantic and mobile declinations of the net. We aim to provide a venue to researchers, scientists, students, and practitioners for presenting and discussing novel and emerging ideas falling in the area of Web Engineering, with an emphasis and preference for works that are motivated by real-life applications and constructed upon experimental results.
