ACM MEDES 2018 – The 10th ACM International Conference on MANAGEMENT OF EMERGENT DIGITAL ECOSYSTEMS Track on Soft Computing & Applications in Digital Ecosystems (SCADE)
Tokyo, Japan, September 25-28, 2018
http://medes.sigappfr.org/18/

The SCADE (Soft Computing & Applications in Digital Ecosystems) track of the 10th international MEDES conference will focus on emerging concepts, architectures, protocols, and methodologies for soft computing in emergent digital ecosystems (DES) which handle data and information in an open, loosely coupled, and adaptive manner, and promote properties such as self-organization, scalability, and sustainability inspired from natural ecosystems. Taking full advantage of these distributed and heterogeneous collaborative environments requires novel and adapted soft computing solutions that address issues of approximate reasoning through tolerance for imprecision, ambiguity and partial truth to achieve tractability, as well as solution fitness while preserving low cost, allowing human users and software agents to collaborate, interact, compete, and evolve autonomously to solve complex and dynamic problems. Soft computing methodologies and solutions ranging over evolutionary algorithms and genetic programming, fuzzy set theory and fuzzy systems, rule-based and probabilistic computing, as well as neural science and neural net systems, become center pieces to the dawn of the Internet of Things – or so called Intelligent Web – era, as the largest DES promoting enhanced human and machine-to-machine communications, fast and greedy processing of data and services, distributed computing and cooperative systems, adaptive mobile services and semantic sensor networks, semantic-based applications and intelligent data processing, as well as distributed AI and collective intelligence, with applications spanning enterprise, education, science, medicine, agriculture, and industry, among other fields.

The aim of this Soft Computing & Applications in Digital Ecosystems (SCADE) track is to provide an international forum for researchers, professionals, and industrial practitioners to share their experiences and knowledge in this growing and highly important area of soft computing in the Intelligent Web and DES.

The topics of interest of the track include, but are not limited to:

Submission and publication
--------------------------
The conference will include keynote addresses, tutorials, and regular and workshop sessions. MEDES SCADE’18 invites submissions of high quality and original papers on the topics included (but not limited to) the list above. All submitted papers will be peer-reviewed by at least three reviewers for technical merit, originality, significance, and relevance to track topics. Papers must be up to 8 ACM single-space printed pages. We especially encourage submissions that take strong or challenging positions on important and practical soft computing topics related to Digital Ecosystems. Accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings and published by ACM and indexed by the ACM Digital Library and DBLP.

Journal special issue
---------------------
Extended versions of selected accepted papers will be considered for publication in a major journal (to be announced).
