SYNERGY Summer School on
EFFICIENT MULTI-OBJECTIVE OPTIMISATION

AUGUST 27-31, 2018, LJUBLJANA, SLOVENIA

*****************************************************************************

Come and visit beautiful Ljubljana and learn about …
* Surrogate-assisted optimisation
* Multi-objective optimisation
* High-performance computing

DETAILS in short:
* Fee is only 70 € (before 31 May 2018, later 100 €)
* Not only lectures, but application of new knowledge in small working
groups guided by experts
* Chance to suggest own topics / problems … and discuss with
colleagues / experts
* Receive corresponding ECTS for participation

WHAT?

The SYNERGY Summer School on Efficient Multi-Objective Optimisation will
be devoted to efficient multi-objective optimisation through parallelisation
and surrogate modelling. In addition to lectures on the state of the art in
this area, the summer school will offer all attendees access to Grid'5000,
a large-scale infrastructure for research in grid computing. The targeted
audience are students, researchers and industrial participants interested in
efficient multi-objective optimisation.

The SYNERGY Summer School represents a unique chance to provide a coherent
educational package that spans from large scale parallelisation to surrogate
modelling, and enhances an attendee’s profile with knowledge on smart
multi-objective optimisation and its applications.

To intensify and practise the new knowledge, only about half of the time of
the summer school will be devoted to lectures by well-known experts in the
fields covered. The remaining time will be used to work in sub-groups on
specific topics / applications to practise the newly learned information.
Here, the students can suggest their own problem / topic and the experts
will be available for guiding the students whenever help is needed. Finally,
if some progress is achieved and the acquired results are presented to the
audience, the students receive the corresponding ECTS credits.

OKAY! Who?

Invited speakers are
* Enrique Alba (University of Malaga, Spain)
* Jürgen Branke (University of Warwick, UK)
