Complex Systems Symposium (CompSysS)
held as part of BRICS-CCI/SBIC 2013 September 8-11, 2013 Recife (Porto de Galinhas Beach), Brazil Important Dates Paper Submission: May 20, 2013 Author Notification: July 12, 2013 Camera-Ready Version Due: July 31st, 2013 Scope The CompSysS event aims at bringing together researchers and practitioners working in the field of complex systems. This event is a unique opportunity to discuss novel scientific approaches in areas related to complex systems. We invite authors to submit their work. We are interested in novel, previously unpublished work but we will also consider, surveys, and application papers. The event will consist of presentations on a variety of topics including (but not limited to): •Computational Social Science •Multi-Level Systems •Social Network Analysis •Human Mobility and Dynamics •Smart Cities and Urban Networks •Behavioral and Social Influence •Online Social Networks and Big Data Analysis •Non-Equilibrium Social Sciences •Complexity in Biological Systems •Information Processing •Urban Modelling •Network Dynamics •Epidemics and Disease Contagion Process •Information Spreading in Social Media •Network Evolution •Network Controllability and Observability •Prediction of Shocks and Bursts of Information •Multiplex Networks •Internet of Things (IoT) •Social Network of Sensors (SNoS) Paper Submission Manuscripts should be prepared according to the IEEE A4 double column format. The papers should have a maximum of 6 pages. Templates are available at: http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html. Submission should be done electronically using the EasyChair system. Make sure you choose the “Complex Systems Symposium”. Publication All manuscripts will be peer-reviewed and all accepted ones will be published in the electronic proceedings (with maximum of 6-pages). All papers will be presented either orally in regular parallel sessions (15 minutes each presentation, including questions) or as a poster. At least four of the best accepted papers (chosen by the committee) will be published in a special issued of the Journal of the Brazilian Computer Society.
