Call for Papers
“FPDAPP, Future Perspectives on Decentralized Applications” Special Issue of Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience (https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/15320634) Blockchain technologies (BCTs) make agreement amongst untrusted parties possible, without the need for certification authorities. Proposed frameworks have been put forward in sector as diverse as finance, health-care, notary, intellectual property management, identity, provenance, international cooperation, social good, and security to cite but a few. Smart contracts, i.e. self-enforcing agreements in terms of executable software running on blockchains, have been developed in several contexts. Such an under-definition computational model introduces innovative aspects, such as the economics and trust of the decentralised computation relying on the shared contribution of peers and their decentralised consensus. Following the first edition of the FPDAPP (held in conjunctions to EURO-PAR 2018) this special issue primarily aims to carry new results from revised and substantially extended versions of papers presented at the workshop. This call is also open to new contributions that rigorously explore and evaluate the potentiality of novel decentralised frameworks and applications. Of particular interest is the evaluation and comparison of killer applications that are showing evidence of how BTC can revolutionize their domains or developing new application areas. Evaluation and comparisons are broadly understood, form technical aspects regarding the novel decentralised computer to the possible impact on society, business and the public sector. Topics of interests include, but are not limited to: * Decentralized democracy * Smart voting * Blockchain for common goods * Decentralized governance * Healthcare * Smart home * Decentralized IoT management * Supply chain management * Blockchain in social networking * Decentralized privacy * Identities management * Token economy * Blockchain analysis and monitoring tools Guest editors * Andrea Bracciali, Stirling University * Claudio Schifanella, University of Turin We encourage the submission of revised and substantially extended versions of papers presented at FPDAPP2018, held in conjunction with EURO-PAR2018. We also strongly encourage all researchers unable to participate to FPDAPP to submit articles for this call. Submissions must follow these guidelines present at http://www.cc-pe.net/journalinfo/issues/2019.html#FPDAPP18 Important dates: * Manuscript submission deadline: 15 May 2019 * Review Notification: 30 June 2019 * Final manuscript due: 31 July 2019 For any questions, please contact Claudio Schifanella (claudio.schifanella@unito.it) |
