FPDAPP 2019 - Call for Papers 2nd International Workshop on Future Perspective of Decentralized APPlications http://fpdapp.di.unito.it/ Held in conjunction with the 25th International European Conference on Parallel and Distributed Computing http://www.europar.org/ August 26 or 27, 2019, Gottingen, Germany Blockchain technologies (BCTs) make agreement amongst untrusted parties possible, without the need for certification authorities. Proposed frameworks have been put forward in sector as diverse as finance, health-care, notary, intellectual property management, identity, provenance, international cooperation, social good, and security to cite but a few. Smart contracts, i.e. self-enforcing agreements in terms of executable software running on blockchains, have been developed in several contexts. Such an under-definition computational model introduces innovative aspects, such as the economics and trust of the decentralised computation relying on the shared contribution of peers and their decentralised consensus. FPDAPP aims to rigorously explore and evaluate the potentiality of such novel decentralised frameworks and applications. Of particular interest is the evaluation and comparison of killer applications that are showing evidence of how BTC can revolutionize their domains or developing new application areas. Evaluation and comparisons are broadly understood, form technical aspects regarding the novel decentralised computer to the possible impact on society, business and the public sector. FPDAPP is associated to Europar, a premier conference in the field of distributed computing, focuses on matching theory with practice and applications. Importantly, FPDAPP aims to foster the cross-fertilisation between the blockchain and the distributed/parallel computing communities, which can strongly contribute to each other development. In this regard, TOPICS OF INTEREST includes (but are not limited by) * Decentralized democracy * Smart voting * Blockchain for common goods * Decentralized governance * Healthcare * Smart home * Decentralized IoT management * Supply chain management * Blockchain in social networking * Decentralized privacy * Identities management * Token economy * Blockchain analysis and monitoring tools PUBLICATION All submitted research papers will be peer-reviewed. Only contributions that are not submitted elsewhere or currently under review will be considered. Revised accepted papers that have been presented at the workshop will be included in the workshop proceedings published by Springer in the ARCoSS/LNCS series. Revised papers will be in between 10 and 12 page long. Authors of accepted papers will have to sign a Springer copyright form. One author of each accepted paper is expected to register and present the paper at the workshop. SUBMISSIONS Submissions must be in PDF format and should not exceed 12 pages (including references) in the Springer LNCS style. Complete LaTeX sources must be provided for accepted papers. Papers should be submitted electronically via the following submission page (select the FPDAPP track): https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=europar2019workshops IMPORTANT DATES: * Paper submission: 25 May, 2019 (EXTENDED) * Author notification: 28 June, 2019 * Camera-ready version: 10 July, 2019 * Workshop date: TBD 26-27 August, 2019 WORKSHOP CHAIRS Andrea Bracciali Stirling University Claudio Schifanella Department of Computer Science - University of Turin PROGRAM COMMITTEE (tbc) Stefano Bistarelli - University of Perugia Guido Boella - University of Turin Maple Carsten - University of Warkwick Boris Düdder - University of Copenhagen Carlos Molina - University of Cambridge Paolo Mori - Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, Pisa, Italy Federico Pintore - University of Oxford Massimiliano Sala - University of Trento Aleš Zamuda - University of Maribor Alberto Guffanti - University of Turin Massimo Morini - Banca IMI Nadia Fabrizio - Cefriel Monika Di Angelo - Technische Universitat, Wien, Austria Yilei Wang - College of Computer Science and Technology, LuDong University, Yantai, China |
