== Introduction ==
Social computing has recently become one of the central themes across a number of information and communication technology fields. It is emerging as an attractive computing paradigm and methodology considering social context and social modeling, using principles of social sciences, or in a socially collaborative way, during information system design and production. The rapid proliferation of online social networking system and service demonstrates the incredible power of social computing. Meanwhile, an effective organization and usage of various social networks and even the design of future Internet also present many new challenges to social computing research and system development. The 2010 IEEE International Symposium on Social Computing and Networking (SocialNet’10) is the next event of SocialNet'09, which was successfully held in conjunction with the PICom 2009 last year at Chengdu. The symposium aims to bring together researchers, scientists, engineers, and scholar students in computer science, networking, sociology and business, and foster interdisciplinary interaction and collaboration towards the challenges and new opportunities in practice and theory of social computing and social networking. == Scope and Topics == The topics include but are not limited to: (1) System Models and Design • Evolution of social media and information ecosystems • Social structure and community modeling • Social behavior modeling • Social epidemiology and network information propagation • Social intelligence • Social, institutional and policy issues in social computing • Security, privacy, trust and risk in social computing systems • Interoperability of social applications (2) Social Computing Theories and Algorithms • Agent negotiation and cooperation • Ethical Computing • Emotional computing • Social search • Trust computing (social computing-based trust establishment) • Online reputation system • Selfish behaviors in networks: modeling, identifying and control • Game-theoretic and incentive compatible mechanisms • Fairness based resource sharing and allocation • Neutrality measurement and neutral network service design • Collaborative filtering • Collaborative control of intelligent environments • Autonomic management in dynamic distributed IT Systems • Bandwidth trading mechanisms • P2P barter trade mechanism and economic traffic management (3) Social Computing for Future Internet • Internet of People • Identity based addressing and routing between people • Semantic Web and semantic routing • Social network analysis and Internet design • Social design principle for future Internet • Competition and cooperation among ISPs, ICPs and end users • Social value assessment of networks (4) Social Networking Services and Applications • Social media • Social ranking • Recommender systems • Social online storage • Commercial social networks • Virtual worlds • Human swarm computing and collective intelligence • Mobile social networking • Social Engineering (5) Social Network Analysis • Network evolution and growth • Community formation and evolution • Dynamics analysis, information diffusion, self-organization • Epidemics and rumors in networks models • Agent based models • Social media business model • Community economics • Innovation through social networks • Online and physical social network • Network Science and human society organization == Publication == Accepted papers will be appeared in the proceedings to be published by IEEE Computer Society Press and to be indexed by EI. Selected papers will be published in special issues of some top SCI-indexed journals. == Submission Guidelines == Prepare your paper with free styles not more than 15 pages in PDF file. Submit at the symposium submission site: http://cse.stfx.ca/~SocialNet10/sub/ Each submission should be regarded as an undertaking that, if the paper be accepted, at least one of the authors must attend the conference to present the work in order for the paper to be included in the IEEE Digital Library. |
