The number of connected IoT devices is exploding during the last years. According to Gartner, the total number of connected "things" will reach 26 billion units by 2020. This trend is bringing several
challenges to be addressed when it comes to building efficient and reliable IoT systems. The devices involved in these applications are getting smaller and smarter, while the conditions and constraints to be satisfied are increasingly complex. In addition, with the aim of increasing user satisfaction, these devices should be aware of the context, knowing the user's preferences and needs; so that they can adapt their behavior to each situation. Further increasing, their complexity. These challenges pose some questions that need further discussion from researchers: How to enable collecting, managing and sharing massive amounts of data with other connected "things" and/or prospective software in the Cloud? How this information could be used to adapt the smart devices' behavior? What is the role of the (Mobile) Cloud Computing and the Fog Computing? How to provide appropriate resources in these environments? The objective of this workshop is to encourage and attract multidisciplinary research in Internet of Things, (Mobile) Cloud Computing, Distributed and Cloud-Aware IoT systems, Context-Awareness and (Mobile) Crowdsensing. ISyCC Workshop will be a forum for academics, industrial researchers, developers, and practitioners to discuss about above-mentioned questions and about topics that include, but are not limited to: --IoT and Smart Cities -Connected Cities -E-Healthcare -Smart buildings -Human Mobility -Co-Creation and Open Participation of people -Applications and experiences --IoT and (Mobile) Cloud Computing -IoT services virtualization techniques -IoT as-a-Service -IoT and DevOps in the Cloud -IoT orchestration mechanisms -SLA/ QoS / QoE management for IoT in the Cloud -Software defined management in the Cloud -Fog Computing --Context-Awareness and IoT -Sensing devices and Systems -(Mobile) Crowdsensing -(Mobile) Social Networks --IoT and Big Data -Data Collection -Data Fusion -Activity Recognition --IoT and 5G Networks -Data and traffic models in 5G networks -Applications of IoT in 5G access technologies -Security and Privacy challenges in 5G-based IoT Middleware systems -Cognitive radio capabilities in 5G mobile networks -M2M communication in 5G mobile technologies --Proactive Devices and Systems -Decision-Making -Self-Adaptive techniques --Semantic Technologies -Semantic annotation for data --IoT Protocols and Standardization Attempts --Trust, Security and Privacy for IoT A selection of accepted papers will be invited to submit an extension of their work for a special issue of the Sensors Journal. Sensors is indexed by the Science Citation Index Expanded (Web of Science), MEDLINE (PubMed), Compendex (EI) and other databases, and has an Impact Factor of 2.475. |
