Special Issue “Distributed Computing for Smart Networks: Recent Advances and Future Trends”

This special issue belongs to Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience Journal (ISSN 1532-0634, IF 1.167).

This Issue is open by invitation to extended versions of high-quality papers presented at the "Distributed Computing for Emerging Smart Networks (DiCES-N) 2019", held in conjunction with the 16th International Colloquium on Theoretical Aspects of Computing. This is also an open special issue where everyone is encouraged to submit.

This special issue will tackle novel and advanced distributed architectures, systems and applications, including their design, modelling, implementation, as well as experimental studies and applications. Original research articles are solicited, which include (but not limited to), the following topics:

− Artificial intelligence and machine learning applied to Cyber Physical Systems and smart cities applications

− Machine intelligence in Cyber Physical Systems and real time analytics

− Optimization, approximation methods for Cyber Physical Systems and smart cities applications

− Modelling and performance evaluation

− Performance analysis : complexity, correctness, scalability

− Robustness, fault-tolerance, scalability and real-time in the context of for Cyber Physical Systems and smart cities applications

− Verification and validation of algorithms and applications in the context of for Cyber Physical Systems and smart cities applications

−Distributed algorithms for emergent wireless networks

−Communication and networking distributed protocols for emergent wireless networks

− Next generation and converged network architectures

− Mobile pervasive computing and networking

− Cognitive networking

− Wireless and cellular networks

− Security and privacy of distributed systems in the context of CPS

− Self-organization, self-stabilization, self-healing and autonomic computing for Cyber Physical Systems and smart cities applications
