Internet of Things (IoT) has been attracting attention due to its economical impact and high expectations for drastically changing our societies. Trillion-scale IoT devices including sensors and actuators are predicted to be installed in "things" such as machines, humans, vehicles, buildings and environments in the near future. At the same time, we are facing research challenges on how to effectively/timely handle over-trillion flows gushed from these massive devices.
Based on the success of our previous events IFoT 2016 and PerFoT 2018, the third edition, the 2019 International Workshop on Pervasive Flow of Things (PerFoT 2019), aims to provide researchers and practitioners a forum for presenting and discussing research challenges, design/implementations of new architectures, and experiences on timely/real-time utilization of massive information flows (or data streams) which IoT devices generate. We solicit technical papers describing original, previously unpublished research, not currently under review by another conference or journal. Submissions should clearly identify how they relate to issues on information flow of things. Contributions describing an overall working system and reporting real world deployment experiences are particularly of interest. Topics of this workshop include, but are not limited to: Information Processing Technology for Pervasive Flows Network Architecture/Protocols for Pervasive Flows Content Curation Technology for Pervasive Flows Security and Privacy Issues for Pervasive Flows Management Technology of Pervasive Flows Data-driven Technology for Pervasive Flows Pervasive Flow Applications Visualization, Analysis and Other Information Technologies for Pervasive Flows Integration of application services Integration of sensory devices Interoperability and interdependence of heterogeneous platforms and technologies Integration and interdependence of cross-domain pervasive systems Impact of system/application integration on end-to-end Quality of Service Integration of protocols Impact of system integration on device power Impact of mobility on system/application integration Fundamental principles of system/application integration Retrofitting and sustainability principles for heterogeneous systems |
