Call For Papers | |||||||||||||
Dates: 22-23 November 2018
Place: The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, Lublin, Poland Organizers: Arkadiusz Gut, Monika Chylińska, Robert Mirski, Andrzej Zykubek, Zbigniew Wróblewski; Philosophy Institute, The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. Development of social cognition has become one of the major topics in today’s cognitive psychology and related disciplines. Recent research have revealed that contextual factors – such as the number of siblings, language surrounding the child, and the culture she/he is growing up in – influence how well children pass various socio-cognitive tests. This context-sensitivity of the development of socio-cognitive skills have met with a number of starkly different interpretations as well as with further empirical investigations. The present conference aims to provide an opportunity to discuss how culture, environment and experience matter for the development of our understanding of minds and other social competences. We invite BA, MA, and PhD students, as well as other young and older researchers working on topics related to social cognition to present their work at the conference in the form of a poster. We await abstracts in English that are anonymized and prepared for blind review. The deadline is the 5th of November , 2018. Submissions should include a title and not exceed 500 words. Please email submissions as a .pdf attachment to the following address: socialcognitionlublin@gmail.com Notifications of acceptance will be sent on the 7th of November , 2018.
