The concepts of information society, information era, infosphere and
infostress have by now been widely accepted. But, what does it really mean for societies, sciences, technology, education, governments, our lives? The Information Society multiconference deals with information technologies, which are of major importance for the development of Europe. IS 2009 will serve as a forum for the world-wide and national community to explore further research directions, business opportunities, governmental European and American policies. Stated reasons require that we host a scientific meeting in the form of a multiconference, which will consist of several stand-alone independent conferences with specific themes essential for the development of the information society. The main objective is the exchange of ideas and developing visions for the future of information society. IS 2009 is a standard high-quality scientific conference covering major recent achievements. Besides, it will provide maximum exchange of ideas in discussions, and concrete proposals in final reports of each conference. Each conference has: * an independent program committee assigned * one or more foreign lecturers taking part * paper review and publishing The contents of the papers, that will form the conference core, are to be interesting and thematically oriented. They should stimulate the society development and incorporate recent developments. Submitted papers should not be too technical in nature. Calls for papers concerning individual conferences are being sent out by mail. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- -- Leading objectives of Information Society multiconference: * contribution and promotion of knowledge about the new information era in information technology, * the introduction of interdisciplinary information technologies and sciences, * analysis and introducing key changes which the politicians, government, public, industry and society are going to face in the years to come. Registration: Registration shall be made not latter than October 1st on the next Website http://is.ijs.si/Registration.html Registration fee: 90 EUR / 40 EUR for students (BIOMA and Language Technologies conferences have separate fees) Registration fee covers conference materials, refreshments during coffee-breaks.
