TOPIC
With the increased size and complexity of software products, software applications are often no longer created by an individual or even a single organization. Instead, applications now commonly comprise components produced by different developers using diverse practices. In order to minimize the complexity of this process, it is beneficial for those working in the field to standardize software development. Large software applications following traditional approaches are difficult to design and test, slow to develop, require continuous maintenance and updates, and are often unreliable. By constructing software products using emerging techniques, software engineers are seeking solutions to these problems and attempting to reduce the period of software development, while increasing productivity, security and reliability.

PURPOSE
The 14th IASTED International Conference on Software Engineering and Applications (SEA 2010) will provide a forum for substantive discussion on the emerging technologies and methodologies being developed to overcome the challenges that exist in all areas of software engineering. This conference will also showcase developments in industry, successful applications, and case studies.

CONCURRENT CONFERENCES
SEA 2010 will be held in conjunction with the IASTED International Conferences on:
•Parallel and Distributed Computing and Systems (PDCS 2010)
•Communication and Information Security (CIS 2010)
•Portable Lifestyle Devices (PLD 2010)

LOCATION
A beautiful city of beach houses and boating, Marina del Rey is just minutes from Venice Beach, Playa del Rey and western Los Angeles. The ideal location for a relaxing visit to California, Marina del Rey is a great base for visiting Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive, and Hollywood. Known for its beautiful marina, it is the centre of recreational boating for Southern California. From deep sea fishing expeditions to private moonlit boat rides, there is an ocean adventure for everyone.
Marina del Rey has some of the best, uncrowded beaches in Southern California. Marina del Rey is also home to the quaint Fisherman's Village, built in the style of a New England fishing town. Stroll through the scenic streets and you will find a variety of charming restaurants, cafes, and souvenir shops, as well as a beautiful lighthouse.

SUBMISSION
Submit your paper via our website at: www.iasted.org/conferences/submit-725.html. All submissions should be in Adobe Acrobat (.PDF) format.

The IASTED Secretariat must receive your paper by August 1, 2010. Receipt of paper submission will be confirmed by email.

Initial Paper Requirements
All papers submitted to IASTED conferences must be previously unpublished and may not be considered for publication elsewhere at any time during IASTED's review period. Authors are limited to a maximum of three paper submissions.

Initial paper submissions should be full papers. Papers of up to 8 pages in length are included in the conference registration fee. An extra charge will apply for every additional page for papers longer than 8 pages. Authors are responsible for having their papers checked for style and grammar before submitting to IASTED. Papers may be rejected if the language is not satisfactory.

When submitting a paper, complete the online initial paper submission form, designating an author who will attend the conference, and provide four key words to indicate the subject area of your paper. At least one of the key words must be taken from the list of topics provided under Scope, above.

Formatting instructions for initial papers are available at www.iasted.org/formatting-initial-page.html.

Reviewing
All papers submitted to this conference will be double-blind peer reviewed by at least two members of the International Program Committee and related technical committees. Acceptance will be based primarily on originality, significance, technical soundness, presentation, and references. The conference chair makes the final decision on the acceptance or rejection of the paper.

Acceptance and Registration
Notification of acceptance will be sent via email by September 6, 2010. Final manuscripts are due by October 3, 2010. Registration and final payment are due by October 3, 2010. Late registration fees or paper submissions will result in the papers being excluded from the conference proceedings.
