1st International Spring School of Big DATA and Cloud Computing (I2SBD2C)

The Cloud Computing, as a new economic model, has changed how we use IT. Cloud offers key features such as self-service, elasticity, scalability, mutualization and pay-as-you-go and it provides huge business opportunities for user and enterprises. This paradigm promotes the emergence of Big DATA technology. In fact, we are witnessing a tremendous growth of data (44.4 trillion GB in 2013 vs 44 trillion GB [Source EMC Digital Universe]) flowing from enterprises and any connected object (25 Billion objects in 2020 [Source Gartner (November 2014)]. Big DATA aims to provide an alternative to traditional databases and analysis solutions (SQL server, Business Intelligence framework...). However, the cloud computing and Big DATA two paradigms are still difficult to master by industrialists and researchers.
This first edition of Big Data and Cloud Computing (BDCC) School will join together students, researchers and enterprises to share and discuss experiences and ideas.
Goals:
-Expose Big Data related issues (Storage, analysis, virtualization, etc.)
-Demos and practical tutorials about cloud computing environment and Big DATA: Google AppEngine, Hadoop, Cloudera, etc.
Publics:
-Teachers/ research students and various parties in the enterprises (consultant, auditor and computer scientist), students and engineers.
