IEEE SEiA 2019: Symposium on Software Engineering in Africa Montréal Québec, Canada, May 28, 2019 Conference website http://seia2019.models-db.com/ Submission link https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=seia20190 May 28th 2019, Montréal, Québec, Canada Co-located with ICSE 2019, Montréal, QC, Canada The Symposium on Software Engineering in Africa (SEiA) is a forum for researchers, innovators, and leading professionals to discuss the state and future of software engineering in Africa. SEiA 2019 has been organized with the purpose of increasing participation of researchers from Africa in international Software Engineering community. The event provides a platform for exchanging ideas on the role of software engineering in socio-economic development of the continent, the future directions of software engineering research and education in Africa, creating networks with the global software engineering community, and sharing exciting results with the global community. Submission Guidelines and Evaluation All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following paper categories are welcome: Full techincal papers limited to 8 pages describing technical research results or industrial experience. Short papers (Posters) limited to 4 pages describing preliminary results of work-in-progress research. All submissions will be rigorously peer-reviewed by members of SEiA 2019 Program Committee. Submissions must be original and not have been previously published or currently under review elsewhere. Submissions will be evaluated based on the scientific quality, relevance for the African continent as well as global software engineering community, significance, and quality of presentation. The page limit includes all text, figures, tables, and references. All submissions must be unpublished original work and not be under review elsewhere. All papers will be judged on the basis of their clarity, relevance, originality, and applicability in practice. Formatting and Submission Links: All submissions must be in English, formatted according to the ICSE 2019 Format and Submission Guidelines: All submissions must conform to the IEEE Conference Proceedings Formatting Guidelines (title in 24pt font and full text in 10pt type, LaTEX users must use\documentclass[10pt,conference]{IEEEtran} without including the compsoc or compsocconf option). Authors of accepted papers are required to register for the symposium and attend the symposium in order to have the paper included in the proceedings. The official publication date of the symposium proceedings is the date the proceedings are made available by IEEE. Venue The sympoisum will be Co-located with ICSE 2019 to be held in Montréal, QC, Canada Important Dates Full Paper Submission January 25, 2019. Notification of Acceptance/Rejection March 1, 2019. Camera Ready Copy Submission March 8, 2019. Symposium May 28, 2019. Travel Grants Travel grants *New*: The SEiA2019 event will offer travel grants, supported by the Swedish SIDA project BRIGHT. These travel grants are available to: 2 Ph.D. students from Uganda and 2 Ph.D. students from any other African country who have papers being accepted to present at SEiA2019. These grants will be awarded based on selection by the organizers of the event. The travel grants aims to cover travel and registration to ICSE2019 main conference.
