Call For Papers

Blockchain is gradually becoming a mainstream technology with a huge potential for growth, adoption, and impact. Blockchain is seen as a horizontal and transformational technology with many applications across many sectors, domains, and areas. Blockchain value lies in providing transactions and access to data in a trusted, secure, transparent, tamper-proof, and decentralized manner with no intermediaries. Still, blockchain faces key challenges that may hinder its massive adoption. These challenges include scalability, throughput, privacy, cost, efficiency, and regulations.
This workshop aims at congregating academic researchers and industry practitioners to share their research in showing how blockchain can transform next-generation applications, and propose solutions to address key blockchain challenges.
We are interested in both original works in unexplored and/or emerging topics in the broad area of blockchain systems, architectures, platforms, applications and algorithms, and in novel findings and/or new insights that build on existing works. We welcome papers on the integration of blockchain with other emerging technologies such as AI, IoT, 3D printing, big data, fog computing, robotics, and smart connected devices.
Our topics of interest includes but not limited to:
• Underlying infrastructure for blockchain systems
• Interoperability of blockchains
• Cross-blockchain ecosystems
• Trusted oracles
• Decentralized storage and IPFS
• Decentralized applications
• Consortium governance and ownership models
• Privacy and security of ledgers
• Secure smart contracts
• Formal verification for smart contract code
• Smart contracts
• Trusted Execution Environment for blockchain
• Zero knowledge proof
• Consensus mechanisms
• Scalability and performance
• Identity and reputation management
• Blockchain-based IoT, fog, cloud, and mobile devices
• Side chains and channels
• Auditability and traceability
• On-chain and off-chain applications
• Blockchain in AI, ML, cyber security, IAM.
• Distributed storage in blockchain
• Building private blockchain systems
• Blockchain tools, simulators, and test-nets
• GDPRP solutions for blockchain ledgers
• Decentralized financing and payments
• Applications for smart cities, governments, and manufacturing

Submissions Guidelines and PROCEEDINGS
Manuscripts should be prepared in 10-point font using the IEEE 8.5" x 11" two-column format. All papers should be in PDF format, and submitted electronically at Paper Submission Link. A full paper must not exceed the stated length (including all figures, tables and references). Submitted papers must present original unpublished research that is not currently under review for any other conference or journal. Papers not following these guidelines may be rejected without review. Also submissions received after the due date, exceeding length limit, or not appropriately structured may also not be considered. Authors may contact the workshop Chair for further information or clarification.

All submissions are blind peer-reviewed by at least three reviewers. Accepted papers will appear in the Conference Proceedings, and be published by the IEEE Computer Society Conference Publishing Services and be submitted to IEEE Xplore for inclusion.

Submitted papers must include original work, and must not be under consideration for another conference or journal. Submission of regular papers must not exceed 6 pages and must follow the IEEE paper format. Please include up to 7 keywords, complete postal and e-mail address, and fax and phone numbers of the corresponding author. Authors of accepted papers are expected to present their work at the conference. Submitted papers that are deemed of good quality but that could not be accepted as regular papers will be accepted as short papers.

Important Dates:
• Submission deadline: June 20th, 2019
• Notification of acceptance: July 25th, 2019
• Camera-ready papers due: August 01, 2019
