Call for Abstract and Workshop Submissions
The SciTS 2019 Program Committee welcomes your abstract submissions for workshops, oral papers, panel presentations, and research posters. Please note the earlier submission deadline! The submission period is from September 15, 2018 to the January 15, 2019. All abstract submissions should use the submission form. KEY DATES • Abstracts due: January 15, 2019 at 11:59pm EST (Eastern Standard Time). • Presenter notification: February 15, 2019 PRESENTATION REQUIREMENTS • Presenting authors are responsible for registration, travel, and hotel costs. • Any presenter who is unable to attend should arrange for another qualified individual to present the paper/poster in question. If such a change is necessary, please notify our conference team. SciTS 2019 TOPICS Presentations may focus on any topic related to the Science of Team Science. These include, but are not limited to: Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning Arts and Humanities Big Data Citizen Science and Crowdsourcing Collaborative Readiness and Antecedents Communication Data Visualization Distributed/Virtual Teams Diversity on Teams (e.g., cultural, gender, discipline) Disciplinary Diversity on Teams Educational and Teaching Team Science Principles Environmental Influences on Teams (e.g., organizational factors, physical environment) Evaluation of Team Processes & Outcomes Funding Strategies Innovation and Creativity Institutional Policies Leadership for Effective Team Science Learning & Knowledge Networks Inter/Transdisciplinary Approaches Methods for Science of Team Science Research Multi-level/Systems Approaches Multi-team Systems Networks Open Science Organization/Management Factors Philosophical Approaches Promoting Team Science Values and Awareness Research Networking Sociotechnical Systems Studies of Cross-Cultural and International Science Teams Team Assembly Team Composition Team Dynamics Team Macro-cognition Team Science in the Clinical Translational Science Institutes (CTSI) Team Types/Typology Theoretical Approaches Training & Professional Development Transdisciplinary Teams Translational Science Teams SUBMISSION OPTIONS Individual Presentation Oral Presentation Oral papers provide authors the opportunity to present original work related to conference topics. Oral papers will have 15-minute time slots and be clustered by theme into sessions. Each session will include three individual presentations and time for questions from the audience. Extended abstract: Submissions should utilize the submission form.. Papers submitted in this category may represent original empirical research, theoretical development, reviews, or critiques. The word limit for oral paper abstracts is 500 words. Research Posters Our 90-minute poster session provides an interactive forum for authors to discuss their work. Submissions may represent original empirical research, theoretical development, or reviews. Poster submissions should use the submission form.-- note that the word limit for posters is 200 words. All individual submissions will be considered for poster presentation if not accepted for their original submission type. Panel Presentation Panel presentations provide authors the option to organize a panel comprising three related presentations. Panel presentation sessions will be 90 minutes long, with 45 minutes for the presentation and 45 minutes for discussion. A panel presentation abstract should use the submission form and must include an one abstract summarizing the overall theme of the panel, as well as individual abstracts for each presentation included in the panel. The combined word limit for these abstracts is 1000 words. Panel presentation abstracts that bring together experts for interactive discussion should describe questions that will be addressed by the panel, list any underlying issues to be discussed, and include bios for each of the panelists. ADDITIONAL SUBMISSION NOTES: The selection committee reserves the right to propose alternative presentation formats.
