Call For Papers

The Center for Islamic Studies welcomes abstracts for paper presentations at the national conference in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Topics include, but are not limited to: religion, role of women in society, social issues, the arts, medical practices, beliefs, education, and more. Participants are also welcome to schedule panel discussions. All paper presentations will be scheduled for 25 OR 45 minutes. An abstract of the paper should designate the amount of time required for presentation. Persons who do not request a specific time will be scheduled for 25 minutes. Abstracts should be submitted by November 5, 2010. Persons who wish to participate are encouraged to submit early. The conference is expected to host 500 or more scholars. We cannot guarantee a change in schedule after the closing date. This conference is being co-sponsored by the National Association of African American Studies and Affiliates.
