Call For Papers

If you haven’t already, consider sending in a submission for the 2011 ASU Writers Conference, Feb. 17-18, featuring Art Spiegelman.

The deadline for submissions for the Conference is October 15, 2010. Electronic submissions are fine.
For USPS send to:
Dr. Julie Gates, Conference Committee Chair
Department of English
Angelo State University
#10894, ASU Station
San Angelo, TX 76909-0894

This year we are especially looking for critical papers on Spiegelman’s work, Elmer Kelton’s work, or on the genre/teaching of graphic novels. If you would like to submit a critical piece, send us a 250-word abstract about the paper you’d like to present.

We would also like to see submissions of creative nonfiction, poetry, and short fiction. Provide excerpts from the creative nonfiction, the short fiction, or enough poems for a 15-20 minute conference reading.

Additionally, consider submitting your creative nonfiction work for the 2011 Kelton Contest. The deadline for this contest is also October 15, 2010. See below for entry requirements and award information:
