We welcome long-paper submissions that present unpublished and complete research and short-paper submissions that include ongoing research, lessons learned from unsuccessful methodological attempts, research proposals, and surveys highlighting opportunities for new approaches.
All accepted papers will be included in the ACL Anthology. Topics Topics of interest wrt. LIMO 2023 include, but are not limited to: New multimodal datasets and training schemes in text and dialogue Multimodal tasks and frameworks in CL Annotation of multimodal datasets Modeling and analysis of linguistic phenomena in multimodal datasets Analysis and discussion of shortcomings of existing multimodal language models Approaches to multimodality in different domains, e.g., documents, social media, visual dialogue, situated dialogue, etc. Work on cross-modal and inter-modal representations, relationships, and dependencies Opinion pieces and (theoretical) reflections on multimodality in NLP/Computational Linguistics Important Dates Submission deadline: 07 July 2023 Author notification: 21 August 2023 Camera-ready: 04 September 2023 Workshop: 22 September 2023 Note: All deadlines are 11:59 PM UTC-12:00 ("anywhere on Earth") Submission All paper submissions must use the official KONVENS 2023 style templates. Long papers must not exceed eight (8) pages of content. Short papers and demonstration papers must not exceed four (4) pages of content. Non-archival abstracts must not exceed one (1) page. References do not count against these limits. Supplementary material does not count towards the page limit and should be included in the appendix. Submission Form We strongly encourage authors to use LaTeX in preparing their documents. Papers must be submitted electronically via the KONVENS submission page by selecting the "LIMO Workshop" track. Reviewing Reviewing of papers will be double-blind. Therefore, the paper must not include the authors' names and affiliations or self-references that reveal the authors’ identity – e.g., "We previously showed (Smith, 1991) ..." should be replaced with citations such as "Smith (1991) previously showed ...". Papers that do not conform to these requirements will be rejected without review. Dual Submission Policy Dual submissions of papers are allowed. Authors of archival papers that have been to other venues must provide this information on the front page of the submission indicating the names and dates of the conferences, workshops or meetings where you have submitted or plan to submit your paper in addition to this workshop. Authors of accepted papers must notify the program chairs within 10 days of acceptance if the paper is withdrawn for any reason. |
