Call For Papers

12th International ECEE Conference will be held from 14-16 June 2020 in Tallinn, Estonia. We have the honour of hosting Ariel Rubinstein, internationally highly renowned professor of economics from Tel Aviv University, and Juuso Välimäki, esteemed professor of economics from Aalto University and long time Editor-in-Chief of the highly ranked Journal of the European Economic Association, as keynote speakers. This conference series, organised by Tallinn University of Technology in collaboration with Eesti Pank (Bank of Estonia) and USA based research societies, aims to discuss topical issues and disseminate high quality research in economics, finance and broader economic environment affairs with European focus.

Call for Papers

Following the 2009-2019 events with participants from a large number of countries, Department of Economics and Finance at Tallinn University of Technology will host the 12th Conference "Economic Challenges in Enlarged Europe" from 14–16 June 2020 in Tallinn, Estonia.

You are invited to submit papers for presentation and discussion.

Keynote Speakers

We have the honour to host as a keynote speaker Professor Ariel Rubinstein, an internationally highly renowned Professor of Economics at the School of Economics at Tel Aviv University and at the Department of Economics at New York University. His main fields of research are economic theory, decision theory, models of bounded rationality and game theory - with the Rubinstein bargaining model being one of the most influential findings in game theory.

It is our great pleasure to host as keynote speaker Professor Juuso Välimäki, an esteemed Professor of Economics, and Head of the Department of Economics at Aalto University. His research focuses on dynamic games of incomplete information and on topics in mechanism design. He has been for a long time the Main Editor of the highly ranked Journal of the European Economic Association.

Submissions

Authors are invited to submit extended abstracts of their papers by 15 February 2020 (I round) / 15 March 2020 (II round). The Academic Committee will review all submissions and the submitting authors will be notified of the decision by 1 March (I round) / 1 April 2020 (II round).

Registration

Online registration facility is available at our website. We kindly ask participants to register for the event by 15 April 2020.

The conference participation fee is EUR 320 per participant. Discounted participation fee of EUR 190 is available for students as well as for any persons accompanying the author(s). The participation fee is payable by 15 April 2020. After that date participation at the conference is possible at a walk-in participation fee of EUR 370 (EUR 240 for students), payable in cash on site during conference registration or by bank transfer beforehand.

The special price for those who participate at both the Summer School and the Conference is EUR 400 (EUR 270 for students) if you register and make the payment by 15 April 2020.

ECEE Summer School 10-12 June 2020

This year, we will offer a course on Forecasting with DSGE Models, aimed at academic and applied researchers, PhD students as well as advanced Master students. The objective of the course is to teach participants how to:

Estimate DSGE models: classical and Bayesian estimation
Forecast with DSGE models: mean, median, density forecast
Evaluate the accuracy of forecasts: ex-post forecasting competitions
The course will be held at a computer lab at the Tallinn University of Technology campus over three days from 10am to 4pm from 10-12 June 2020. The course will use Matlab and Dynare software.

We are pleased to host as the course instructor Michał Rubaszek, Associate Professor and the Head of the Financial Markets Modelling Unit at Warsaw School of Economics. He has long-term experience in central banking (National Bank of Poland as well as European Central Bank) and he has authored numerous publications on forecasting with DSGE models.
