IEEE Task Force on Network Science (TFNS)
First International Network Science Workshop (NSW2011) Held at the Thayer Hotel June 22-24, 2011, West Point, NY USA The 2011 IEEE Task Force on Network Science Workshop (NSW2011) will be held at West Point, NY along the Hudson River and hosted by the United States Military Academy (USMA) Network Science Center. The goal of NSW2011 is to bring together researchers, engineers and practitioners from around the world to focus on technologies that will develop Network Science for Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Network Science develops and exploits complex networks encountered in ICT, and predicts their behavior. It is an interdisciplinary pursuit using formal, scientific methods, and draws ideas and technology from the physical sciences, mathematics, the social and cognitive domains, from bio-inspired technology, and from neuroscience. The results affect delivery and sharing of information in a broad spectrum of applications that impact every aspect of human existence in developed societies that depend on ICT for ordinary interactions and functionality of critical infrastructure and key resources. The five preceding Network Science Workshops produced by USMA provide the foundation for NSW2011 to become an important Network Science forum focused on ICT. NSW2011 will present research papers, works in progress, position papers, short papers, panel sessions, and tutorials as well as an exhibit. Social events include a boat ride on the Hudson. A Call for Papers will issue soon. Developing information will become available here. Jack Cole, Workshop Chair jack.cole@ieee.org |
