Call For Papers

You are invited to submit a paper for possible inclusion in the 2021 Religious Studies Research Conference hosted virtually by the Religious Studies Student Organization at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. We invite undergraduate and graduate students from all disciplines and from any accredited institution to submit a paper concerning, or incorporating, Religious Studies.
Areas of interest for this conference include, but are not limited to, these topics as they concern religion and/or religious studies:
• Religion in times of crisis
• Social movements and activism
• Current events and/or politics
• Interfaith work and organizations
• Urban studies
You will need to provide your intention of participating in the conference by submitting your complete abstract (approx. 300 words) to the email provided by Friday, March 12th at 11.59PM. Late submissions may not receive consideration. Presentations will each be 15 minutes in length (approx. 9 pages), and each panel will be concluded with 15 minutes of Q&A. Papers and presentations will be published on the UWM Digital Commons following the event.
Attendance to the conference is free and registration is open to all students, faculty, and the public – registration can be done by emailing rsconference-2021@uwm.edu with the subject “Registration” to receive a registration form.
