-- ABOUT --
Summer School on Image Processing (SSIP) is a traditional, annual gathering of researchers and professionals dealing with image analysis and machine vision. The 29th Summer School on Image Processing will be held at the University of Rijeka Faculty of Engineering in Rijeka, Croatia, between 8 and 17 July 2021. Fifty students, mostly doctoral and young researchers will be attending the lectures given by numerous world-renowned researchers, and will be working on exciting hands-on projects under their mentorship. The students will also be given the opportunity to present their work through a poster session. The summer school is co-organised by the University of Rijeka Faculty of Engineering (RITEH) and the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity (AIRI).

-- APPLICATION --
There is no attendance fee – participating in all formal school activities (e.g. attending lectures, working on projects, participating in the poster sessions) is entirely free for the registered students. Nonetheless, registration is mandatory for all student participants, due to the limited capacity. Selection of candidates will be made by evaluating the documents they submitted in the application. The application deadline is 28 May 2021 (2nd Call).

-- PANDEMIC REGULATIONS --
A quick COVID-19 note. We are planning arrangements to conduct SSIP 2021 summer school live in Rijeka. We expect that no travel restrictions will be imposed in July and August for the EU and neighbouring countries, therefore all students and teachers should be able to travel effortlessly. We are currently obligated to wear mouth/nose covering protective masks indoors. This regulation will likely remain in force even during the summer. The lecture hall has a standard capacity for 244 students, but has been reduced in capacity to comply with the current regulations. The same holds for the informatics laboratories. The premises are cleaned and sanitized regularly. Therefore, we expect no significant problems; however, we are prepared to move the school online if the pandemic conditions tighten.
