The 3rd Congress of Testing and Experimentation in Civil Engineering, with the theme Smart Technologies, is organized by the NOVA School of Science & Technology (FCT NOVA), the Association of Accredited Laboratories of Portugal (RELACRE) and the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), will take place on the Caparica Campus of FCT NOVA, from February 21st to 23rd, 2022. The world is in a technological transformation, considered by many to be the fourth industrial revolution, which has implications on the way we live, work and interact.
This congress of Testing and Experimentation in Civil Engineering intends to highlight Smart Technologies in the context of the development of Civil Engineering and its different areas of activity. Smart Technologies tend to assume an increasingly preponderant role in all Civil Engineering activities, from the planning and design phases, through construction, maintenance and management of the built environment, with particular emphasis on the interaction between the several stakeholders and the society. The permanent evolution of testing and experimentation in Civil Engineering will decisively contribute to the integration of these new technologies.
