# NCMA 2026 — 16th International Workshop on Non-Classical Models of Automata and Applications

- **Dates:** 29–30 June 2026
- **Venue:** Rouen, France (co-located with DLT 2026)
- **Series page:** [https://www.cs.uni-potsdam.de/NCMA/](https://www.cs.uni-potsdam.de/NCMA/)
- **Local website:** TBA

## Overview

NCMA (since 2009) is a workshop series devoted to research on non-classical models of automata and grammar-like devices, covering both theoretical foundations (descriptional complexity, decidability, complexity) and applications (bio-computing, document processing, self-assembly, etc.). NCMA aims to bring together researchers studying novel or extended computational models, their properties and applications.

## Topics (including, but not limited to)

- Formal models inspired by linguistics, bio-computing, text processing,
document engineering, self-assembly, etc.,
- Bio-inspired models of automata and generative devices,
- Cellular automata,
- Forgetting automata and restarting automata,
- Automata with additional resources,
- Regulated rewriting/automata,
- Networks of automata or generative devices,
- Models of cooperation and communication,
- Quantum automata,
- Automata in the framework of membrane computing,
- Complexity aspects for formal systems.

## Program

The workshop program will include contributed talks (accepted papers) and invited talks (expected 2; **TBA**).

## Submission & Review

* Submission platform and formats: **TBA** (EasyChair)
* Paper lengths and types: **TBA**
* Review: Each submission will be evaluated by two or three program committee reviewers. Reviews will be non-blind (reviewers will be aware of the authors' identities). Final acceptance decisions will be based on reviewer reports and program committee discussion.

## Important dates
