This special issue aims to contribute state-of-the-art in the field of robot curiosity at the intersection of human-robot interaction (HRI) from a multidisciplinary perspective. Researchers from backgrounds in cognitive robotics, social and affective robotics, cognitive science, machine learning, and HRI are invited to share their novel ideas and research on the role of robot curiosity in real-world applications and its implications in HRI.
