Call For Papers

SPECIAL SESSION ON APPLIED AND THEORETICAL LINGUISTICS

Although we encode our thoughts through signed, spoken, written, and tactile expression on a daily basis, M.A.K. Halliday's (1978) oft-touted adage is frequently taken for granted: "Linguistics is everywhere because language is everywhere." As a result, this special session welcomes submissions on any aspect of applied or theoretical linguistics from non-literary perspectives. To this end, abstracts addressing the issue of language change, which is the theme for this year's conference, are especially welcome, though submissions on other topics within linguistics will also be considered. By July 20, 2022, please submit an abstract of 250 words, a brief biographical blurb, and any A/V or scheduling requests to Troy E. Spier, Universidad San Francisco de Quito, at tspier@usfq.edu.ec.
