The rapid development of the Internet of Things (IoT) and the ever-increasing number of mobile devices have led major industries, organizations, companies, hospitals, etc., worldwide to consider the IoT as the main direction and an efficient method for development. Despite the many benefits of IoT technology such as providing high-level services via generated Big Data by it, the robustness of its systems, applications, and devices against security and privacy threats remains a major concern as new threats are constantly emerging and intensifying. The IoT collects a lot of data that can reveal privacy-sensitive information, such as human users' daily habits, locations, or health situations. The IoT infrastructure is increasingly able to meet the emerging needs of users, but security and privacy challenges prevent applications from working correctly. Leakage of these data can lead to massive security and privacy violations due to improper handling. Thus, illegal access to a large amount of data could be a lucrative resource for hackers.

In light of these challenges, it is more important than ever to fully understand the security and privacy issues associated with IoT systems and applications and find solutions. This Research Topic aims to address the security and privacy challenges emerging from deploying IoT, emphasizing IoT frameworks, networking, infrastructures, and protocols. In addition, this article collection provides an up-to-date statement of the current research progress in IoT security, privacy challenges, and approaches for protecting users' data and the sustainability of IoT-based systems.

This article collection focuses on the following topics but is not limited to:
• Secure architectures for the generated big data by IoT devices
• Trust approaches for the generated big data by IoT devices
• Security diagnosis tools for generated big data by IoT devices
• Risk assessment in the generated big data by IoT devices
• Intrusion detection for the generated big data by IoT devices
