We are happy to announce that there will be a third edition of the Ontario Database Day this year: this year, OnDBD will be held Friday 12 December 2025 at Western University. We are looking forward to seeing you (either as presenters or as visitor).
The Ontario DataBase Day (OnDBD) is a one-day symposium that yearly brings together the database and data-focused research community of Ontario. OnDBD will provide an opportunity for junior and senior researchers from Ontario to present their recent work and learn about the wide variety of topics our research community is working on. Hence, OnDBD is an excellent opportunity to meet up with your local colleagues (including new students and faculty) and to foster new local research collaborations.
We invite proposals for presentations in all areas related to databases and data-focused research. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to: Data storage, indexing, and querying; Large-scale data, distributed data processing, and resilient data management; Data mining, knowledge discovery, and machine learning; Database benchmarking and performance; Database theory, dependencies, and query semantics; and Data science. Contributions can cover published work or research in progress. Based on the submissions, we will make a selection of contributions that will be presented as a talk. In case of many submissions, we will favor presentations by new faculty and junior researchers.
We refer to the website at https://ondbd.ca/ for further details. Additional details on the venue, registration, and program of the workshop will follow. For any immediate feedback, further questions, clarifications, or issues, feel free to reach out via e-mail at contact@ondbd.ca.
