'Poetry off the Page’ Blog

Poetry off the Page is an online, international platform for anyone interested in the study and analysis of Anglophone spoken word and poetry performance from the 1960s to the present day.

The ‘Poetry off the Page’ blog (https://poetryoffthepage.univie.ac.at/blog/) is dedicated to original poetry performance research, with a focus on theory and methodology. The PoP blog provides a space for researchers to present new ideas, apply and/or question existing methodologies and theoretical approaches, and analyse new developments in the field such as performance analysis and historiography, archiving audio-visual files, authorship and performativity, archiving, (re-)mediation and mediatization, interviewing, and the interface between poetry performance studies and theory. Sample analyses are welcome where they serve to illustrate observations on theory or methodology.

The PoP blog is edited by the Poetry off the Page team at the Department of English and American Studies at the University of Vienna.

Contributions are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License and are also published with a DOI on Phaidra, the University of Vienna’s research repository.
