Call For Papers

Wide scale pervasive sensing in the Internet of Things (IoT) can only be envisioned in light of two key challenges: heterogeneity and scalability. One of the key objectives is to have flexible digitalization architectures that enables fast and inexpensive sensor integration with everyday objects. Then, protocols for discovering the services and features of this massive sensing population is required. This can only be realized if semantic architectures are infused into the fabric of the IoT. These architectures can then leverage context-aware frameworks for intelligent applications and possibly enable Sensing-as-a-Service as a new cloud service model. Thus, we invite original and innovative contributions that address object digitalization, public sensing architectures, fog computing, and service discovery in the IoT. In addition, we strongly encourage research in semantic search techniques for the IoT, including topics such as rule-based association machine learning techniques in ontological structures. We are also highly interested in security and privacy frameworks that ensure trust and usability in the IoT.

Specific topics include, but are not limited to:
● Wireless sensor/actuator networks
● Object digitalization
● Public/Crowd sensing
● Vehicular sensing/Intelligent transportation systems
● Vehicular clouds
● IoT heterogeneity/interoperability issues
● Service and resource discovery in the IoT
● Pervasive/ubiquitous computing algorithms and architectures
● Semantic search techniques for the IoT
● Context-aware frameworks for the IoT
● Sensing-as-a-Service as a cloud service model
● Fog computing architectures
● Security and privacy frameworks for the IoT
● Big data analysis solutions for the IoT

IMPORTANT DATES

Submission of papers: February 15, 2016 (firm)
Notification to authors: February 30, 2016
Camera-ready copy due: March 15, 2016

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PAPER SUBMISSION

Authors are required to submit fully formatted, original papers (PDF), with graphs, images, and other special areas arranged as intended for the final publication.
Papers should be written in English conforming to the IEEE standard conference format (8.5" x 11" - US letter, Two-Column). The initial submission for review will be limited to 8 pages. The final manuscript for publication will be limited to 8 IEEE pages. Additional charges may apply for additional pages.
Conference content will be submitted for inclusion into IEEE Xplore as well as other Abstracting and Indexing (A&I) databases.
Each accepted paper must be presented at the workshop by one of the co-authors or a third party, otherwise it will not be indexed nor archived through IEEE Xplore.
Only timely submissions through EDAS at https://edas.info/newPaper.php?c=21867&track=77937 will be accepted.
