In conjunction with the 12th International Conference on Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITS2014) Honolulu, Hawaii, June 5-9, 2014 http://www.its2014.its-conferences.com This workshop will bring together researchers from an array of interests who overlap on the interdisciplinary theme of supporting what we will call Social Deliberative Skills in computer-based learning environments. Social deliberative skills (SD-skills) refers to skills that learners or participants need in order to work toward mutual understanding, mutual regard, and trust in deliberations in which participants start with heterogeneous goals, assumptions, values, or world-views. The workshop focus is on tools, features, and methods for supporting skills such as perspective taking, meta-dialogue, social metacognition, and self-reflection in online learning, dialogue, deliberation, and knowledge building.
