Call for Papers – IEEE BMSB 2026
Deadline Extension Announcement Overview The IEEE International Symposium on Broadband Multimedia Systems and Broadcasting (BMSB 2026) marks the 21st edition of the flagship conference of the IEEE Broadcast Technology Society. This edition takes place at a pivotal moment for the global broadcasting and multimedia ecosystem, as next-generation technologies transition from research to large-scale deployment. Event Information · Conference: IEEE BMSB 2026 · Location: João Pessoa, Brazil · Dates: July 8–10, 2026 · Website: www.bmsb2026.com Strategic Context The global broadcasting and multimedia ecosystem is undergoing a profound transformation driven by rapid advances in communication networks, signal processing, multimedia services, and data-driven intelligence. Emerging technologies such as broadcast–broadband convergence, cloud and edge computing, AI-based systems, non-terrestrial networks, immersive media, and next-generation wireless standards are reshaping how multimedia content is produced, delivered, and consumed. In addition, major global events such as the FIFA World Cup 2026 will place unprecedented demands on multimedia systems, requiring highly reliable, scalable, and immersive content delivery across heterogeneous networks and devices. Moreover, during this same period, Brazil will launch the next generation of digital TV broadcasting, known as TV 3.0/DTV+. These challenges span the entire multimedia chain, from transmission and networking to signal processing, services, and quality of experience. In this evolving landscape, IEEE BMSB 2026 provides an international forum for researchers, engineers, and practitioners from academia and industry to present and discuss innovative solutions, experimental results, and real-world deployments across the full spectrum of broadband multimedia systems and broadcasting.
