The Internet has created a global platform for the exchange of ideas, goods and services; the benefits of which are enormous. However, it has also created boundless opportunities for cyber-crime. As an increasing number of large organizations and individuals use the Internet and its satellite mobile technologies, they are increasingly vulnerable to cyber-crime threats. It is therefore paramount that the security industry raises its game to combat these threats. This is an issue of global importance as law enforcement agencies all over the world are struggling to cope. ICGS3 has emerged as an established international forum that brings together security, safety and sustainability professionals from industry, academia and public bodies to discuss and report their latest findings in a friendly and interactive environment. As we are approaching the 30th Olympiad to be held in London in 2012, this year?s conference theme is ?Safety, Security and Sustainability of large-scale major events?.
