The National Institute of Telecommunications, Department of Transmission and Optical Technologies in Warsaw, together with Communications Systems Laboratory at the University of Warwick School of Engineering, and the IEEE Photonics Society Poland Chapter are pleased to announce the 14th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks ICTON 2012 which will be kindly hosted at the University of Warwick, UK, July 2-5, 2012. Technical co-sponsorship by the IEEE Photonics Society is foreseen.
The University of Warwick is located in Coventry, at the heart of England. Famous home of William Shakespeare, Stratford is yet another beautiful jewel in Warwickshire crown. England's second city, Birmingham, is just 15 miles (25 km) from Coventry. The scope of the Conference is concentrated on the applications of transparent and all-optical technologies in telecommunications, computing and novel applications, and includes: Digital all-optical networks Ultra-dense wavelength-division multiplexing Ultra-fast optical time domain multiplexing Next generation networking Optical switching and routing (WAOR) Optical packet networks and services Optical memories and data storage Quality of service issues Optical transparency and network scalability Network reliability and availability (RONEXT) Wireless and optical networking (GOWN) Radio-over-fibre transmission Broadband metro and access networks Industry and standardisation Photonic band-gap structures (ESPC) Photonic crystal fibres Nonlinear and active PBG devices Nanoscale and ultrafast photonics (NAON) VCSELs and other novel light sources Microresonators and photonic molecules (MPM) Novel glasses Photonic component integration (PICAW) Market in telecommunications (MARS) Network planning and design tools Non-conventional optical communications Sub-wavelength photonic devices Communication in transportation systems (CTS) Green optical communications (GOC) Intelligent Systems for Optical Networks Design (ISOND) Other relevant topics |
