International Conference on Advances in ICT for Emerging Regions
CALL FOR PAPERS ICTer2011 Colombo, Sri Lanka – 01st and 02nd September 2011 International Conference on Advances in ICT for Emerging Regions (ICTer) is the successor to the seminal International Information Technology Conference held in Sri Lanka since 1998, the IITC. It provides a platform where research done in ICT is presented by both local and foreign Computer Scientists and IT Professionals. In order to get wider international participation and to promote computing research in the fast emerging regions of the world especially in Asia-Pacific, it was decided to broadbase the conference and link it with the related International Journal ICTer (www.icter.org). The proceedings of ICTer2011 will be published in both book and online versions with an ISBN number and also in IEEE Explorer. Selected papers will be invited for publication in the ICTer Journal. The call for papers, proposals for tutorials and other relevant details are available at www.icter.org/icter2011. This year the conference will take place in Colombo, Sri Lanka on Thursday 01st and Friday 02nd September 2011. In addition to the presentation of selected full papers, several Keynote Addresses by leading personalities in the IT world will be made. The conference will be followed by several high quality tutorials in areas of current interest in Information and Communication Technology. The conference and tutorials will focus on important problems and potential solutions in areas of ICT including but not limited to the following: • Virtualization and Cloud Computing • Web 2.0, Web 3.0 and beyond • Embedded Systems and Sensor Networks • HCI and Affective Computing • Agile and Collaborative Software Development • Next Generation Networks • Language Processing and Localization • Innovative Applications of Free and Open Source Software • Software Licensing and Creative Commons • Mobile communication technologies • Building Online Learning Communities • Augmented Reality and Virtual Worlds • Emergent Intelligence and Computational Learning • eGovernment and Rural ICT Applications • Information System Security, Privacy and Legal Issue Papers should describe the results of completed/ongoing research or cutting-edge technology deployment. Proposals for Tutorials in areas of current interest are also invited.
