Call for papers

Studii de Gramatica Contrastiva (Studies in Contrastive Grammar) is a biannual journal for specialists in linguistics, history of language, cultural studies and other related fields. The main focus of the journal is comparative and contrastive study from a wide range of perspectives: general linguistics, applied linguistics, semantics, translation studies. The main objectives of the journal are to promote interdisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity and to encourage innovative thinking and intercultural exchange. The articles are published in English, French, Italian, German, Russian and Spanish.

The journal is accredited by the Romanian National Council for Scientific Research in Higher Education, category B+, and is indexed in three international data bases (Index Copernicus, DOAJ, Scipio).


You are kindly invited to submit articles to issue no 15/2011 of the Journal.

The articles are to be sent by April 30th, 2011 (full article in Word format) to studiidegramaticacontrastiva@yahoo.com or ec_ilinca@yahoo.com.

They may be written in English, French, German, Russian or Spanish.

General layout of the text:
The format of the document will be: Times New Roman 10, line spacing: single.
Page margins:
- top: 5 cm
- bottom: 5 cm
- left / right : 4 cm
Title of the paper – TNR 12, bold, italic, capital letters, centered, followed by a double space
Name and surname, only the latter in capital letters – TNR, 10, bold, right alignment
Affiliation – TNR 10, bold, right alignment, followed by a double space
Abstract – TNR 9, bold, italic. Content: TNR, 9, italic, followed by a single space
Key words: TNR 9, bold, italic. The three - five key words: TNR 9, italic, followed by a single space

Italics or bold letters will be used in the following cases:
- for the titles of works or articles quoted in the text, notes or bibliography;
- for classical notations: ibidem, idem, op.cit., cf., apud, supra, infra, et alii. The word “idem” will be written using normal characters.
- to highlight a concept, a notion, a metadiscursive word, etc.

Please avoid underlining.

The references are to be written in the text of the paper as shown in the following example: (Author’s surname, year of publication: page)
The reference list added to the bibliography at the end of the article will include all the references mentioned in the text.
Other reference works consulted for the article will be added.
Inverted commas - in French: « xxxx»
in English, German, Spanish: "xxxx".
Apostrophe - the ’ form will be used.
Notes should appear as footnotes.
Do not number the pages but make sure the pages are in the correct order.
A single space should be left between the paper and bibliography.

Bibliography – TNR 9, bold, italic.
Bibliographic references will be listed in alphabetical order, in TNR 9, as in the following examples:
- books: Author, year, Title, place of publication, publishing house
e.g.: Rastier, F., 1989, Sens et textualité, Paris, Hachette,
Searle, J., 1972, Les Actes de langage, Paris, Hermann
- articles: Author, year, „Title”, Journal, number, page(s)
e.g.: Gyurcsik, M., 2005 „Pigeon vole: Intertextualité et métissage”, Nouvelles Études Francophones 20.1
- contributions to collective volumes: Author, year, „Title”, editor’s name (ed.), Title of the collective volume, publishing house

The electronic sources will be mentioned alphabetically. The access day will be mentioned:

All publishing expenses will be covered by the editor. Authors are asked to contribute only to the mailing costs of the Journal.
