Call For Papers

The “International Workshop on Context Aware Middleware for Ubiquitous Computing Environments” (CAM 11) will be held in Park Inn Pulkovskaya, St. Petersburg, Russia from August 23 to August 25, 2011. The aim of this workshop is to gather researchers in the emerging area of context awareness to
exchange knowledge and ideas.
Context is a fundamental concept in the pervasive computing; which is generally defined as any information that can be used to characterize the situation of an entity. A context aware application always uses context to adapt its behavior and provide improved and pervasive services to the users. The main challenge to implement a context
aware application is discovering and obtaining the required context. Context aware middlewares aim to facilitate the development of context aware applications. In general, the task of a context aware middleware is firstly discovering context sources; and then gathering, aggregating, modeling, conflict resolving, and reasoning context;
and finally creating transparent mechanisms for context aware applications to obtain their context needs. The developers of pervasive computing environments usually invest in developing a middleware for supporting context aware applications.
CAM 11 invites authors to submit their papers that address issues related to context awareness. Topics of
interest are included but not limited to:

Context aware middleware
Context management architecture/framework
Context discovery
Context aggregation
Context modeling
Context reasoning
Context distribution/dissemination
Context aware applications

Submission
CAM 11 seeks original, previously unpublished, not currently under review by another conference or journal
manuscripts, describing research in all aspects of context awareness that contribute to the workshop theme. All
papers will be peer reviewed, and acceptance will be based on quality, relevance and originality. The total length
of a paper should not exceed 6 pages formatted according to the IEEE Template. Accepted papers will be published
in IEEE Xplore and indexed in relevant databases. Papers must be submitted via ITST-2011 EDAS submission site
in pdf format.
