In recent years, two phenomena of massive proportions have emerged: first, the transformation of the Internet users from passive consumers to active producers of digital content as witnessed by the amount of user generated content on Web 2.0 websites. Second, and almost in parallel, mobile technology has undergone a major evolution. Mobile devices (e.g., smart phones, portable digital assistants, etc.) have seen their computing capabilities such as processing power and memory availability, grow according to Moore’s law, while also accommodating a variety of wireless network interfaces of increasing bandwidth.
Convergence of these two trends, in conjunction with characteristics of urban lifestyle, has made it possible for citizens to contribute user generated content on the go, a trend that is also known as ubiquitous crowdsourcing. Crowdsourcing, a well-known paradigm in Web, offers a mechanism for harvesting data and bringing together content that is produced from the large, distributed crowds of volunteers.

To successfully apply crowdsourcing paradigm into the mobile and ubiquitous setting, networking challenges need to be addressed. This workshop's focus is on understanding those challenges, and addressing requirements of such ubiquitous crowdsourcing systems. In particular, we are interested in exploring areas such as network security, network monitoring and task coordination for ubiquitous crowdsourcing systems.

TOPICS OF INTEREST include, but are not restricted to the following:
• Mobile Crowdsourcing Applications and Services
• Crowdsensing and Crowd Discovery
• Crowd Network Management
• Crowd Network Monitoring
• Crowd Overload Management
• Crowd Network Security
• Data Integrity and Security Challenges in Mobile Crowdsourcing
• Network Dynamics and Social Ties to the crowds
• Task Discovery and Coordination in Mobile Crowdsourcing
• Quality Control and Improvement of Crowdsourcing Contributions
