24th International Vacuum Nanoelectronics Conference
Historische Stadthalle Wuppertal July 18, 2011 – July 22, 2011 IVNC 2011 is the 24th of the IVMC/IVNC conference series which occurs every summer in alternating continents. This year it will be held in Wuppertal, Germany on July 18-22, 2011. Wuppertal is located in the center of the federal state North-Rhine-Westfalia and provides easy access by 3 major airports in Düsseldorf (DUS) , Cologne (CLG) and Frankfurt (FRA) and fast train connections. Conference venue is the historical city hall (Historische Stadthalle Wuppertal) which is in 5 minutes walking distance from the main train station (Wuppertal Hbf). IVNC 2011 is an important forum for actual reports and mutual discussions on the latest experimental and theoretical advances and recent developments in the field of vacuum micro and nanoelectronics. Up to 200 scientists and engineers from all over the world are expected to participate. Topics will focus on the physics, chemistry, material science and fabrication techniques of cold electron sources for novel device applications. The schedule with a four-day scientific program will consist of an invited plenary, ten oral and two poster sessions. Several awards for outstanding contributions will be given to young researchers. Wuppertal (www.wuppertal.de) is an early industrial city with the unique suspension railway and a lot of culture. Accordingly, an excursion to the Neandertal-, Roentgen- or Engels-Museum and to a large historic castle "Scloss Burg an der Wupper" is planned. Convenient accomodation with reduced rates is provided by Hotel Arcadia and by appartements, both in 2 minutes walking distance of the city hall. Several other hotels, many restaurants and fast-food places are nearby in the pedestrian area of the city. The conference will be organized by members of the University of Wuppertal. We hope to welcome many of you. Call for Papers Contributions to all the main topics listed below are highly welcome. Short abstracts of no more than 500 words describing the actual work including the state of the art and recent progress should be submitted now. The abstract should contain names and affiliations of the authors, the mailing address, a telephone and/or fax number and the e-mail address. Please try to allocate your contribution to at least one of the listed topics (or suggest a new one), and indicate your preference for an oral or poster contribution. These short abstracts should be submitted online via the homepage until March 20th 2011. For this purpose, the presenting author must first create an account and then log-in into the conference system (free access) following the instructions given there. Each complete abstract submission will be automatically acknowledged by the system with a confirmation e-mail. After reception of all short abstracts, the international program committee will set-up the oral and poster sessions and inform the authors about the acceptance and allocation of their contributions until April 30th 2011. Further instructions for the submission of extended abstracts (conference proceedings) and for the reduced early registration fee payment will be given then.
