The First International Workshop on Web-based Geographic Information Management (WGIM '11) in conjunction with WAIM 2011(http://totemdb.whu.edu.cn/waim2011/index.html) 14 - 16 September 2011 Wuhan, China The rapid development of geographic information infrastructure and increased demand for sharing useful geographic data and information through the Web, which has made a new research focus that how to manage and share geographic information on the Web efficiently. The aim of WGIM 2011 is to present innovative research and development contributions in the context of Web-base Geographic Information Management. WGIM should inspire a fruitful dialogue between developers, users, expert scientists working in this field. The Workshop proceedings will be published by Springer-Verlag in the Lecturer Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series. It will be indexed by EI. Selected best papers will be published in international journals. Submission of a paper should be regarded as an undertaking that, should the paper be accepted, at least one author will attend the conference to present the work.
