We are witnessing a revolutionary transformation in our living, fostered by technological advancements in various domains, including communication, control, sensing, positioning, and machine intelligence, enabling new systems that improve the quality of life of humankind. Connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs), including ground and aerial vehicles, promise improved safety, efficiency, and comfort. However, due to their natural interaction with their surroundings, any fault, security and privacy problems in such systems represent a direct threat to their users and could cause significant losses, including losses in human lives. With the growing interest in increasing the level of autonomy (e.g., SAE level 5), connectivity (e.g., V2X and 5G), intelligence (e.g., deep learning) and deployment and proliferation (e.g., drone delivery and CAVs) of such systems, the aforementioned problems become more critical than before and thus require more analysis and attention.
To meet the aforementioned need, this workshop is organized to bring the stakeholders, including researchers, engineers, industry (e.g., OEM) and users of CAVs to discuss, analyze, and propose innovative solutions that could overcome the limitations of existing systems, aiming at improving the efficiency, safety, security and privacy of CAVs. The workshop covers the following areas but not limited to: Machine learning for CAVs applications (e.g., object detection and recognition, vehicle behaviour prediction, reinforcement learning for CAVs) Security of CAVs, including intrusion detection systems, encryption, and authentication algorithms Edge and cloud computing for CAVs applications Testing and verification Human-machine interface Telematic systems Big data and vehicle analytics V2I, V2V, and V2X Positioning systems Submission guidelines: Prospective authors are requested to submit new, unpublished manuscripts for inclusion in the upcoming event described in this call for papers. Paper submissions should follow the submission format and guidelines at : https://www.just.edu.jo/icics/icics2021/submissions.html .
