2nd International Workshop on Green Computing Middleware (GCM'2011)
In conjunction with ACM/IFIP/USENIX 12th International Middleware
Conference, December 12 - December 16, 2011. Lisbon, Portugal.

Green computing is nowadays a major challenge for most IT
organizations that involve medium and large scale distributed
infrastructures like Grids, Clouds and Clusters. The GCM
workshop will focus on next generation middlewares that will
require solutions for all aspects of green computing such as
energy efficiency, carbon footprint reduction and cooling
management. These middlewares must take into account the
impact of green computing on the traditional distributed
system issues like Dependability, Scalabilitity, Performance
and Configuration management. The workshop aims to provide
a forum to a wide audience from both the academia and the
industry to discuss recent and innovative results in the
field. Topics of interest addressed by the GCM workshop
include, but are not limited to:

* Green and Clouds applications
* Green architectures for Grids, Clouds and clusters
* Design of green computing middlewares
* Energy efficient large scale systems
* Green-oriented Autonomic computing
* QoS and green computing
* Energy efficiency benchmarking and profiling
* Green-aware configuration and resource management
* Component model for green computing
* Scheduling and control in green computing
* Virtualization impact for green computing
* Software engineering methodologies and tools for green computing
* Reporting and exposing carbon and energy impact
* Real life experiments

Paper Format:
The workshop on Green Computing Middleware invites authors
to submit original and unpublished work. Papers must not
exceed 6 pages, must strictly follow the ACM conference proceedings
format (http://www.acm.org/sigs/pubs/proceed/template.html),
and must be submitted in PDF format. The workshop papers will
be published in the ACM digital library.

Important Dates:
Workshop paper submission due date: August 15, 2011
Workshop paper acceptance notification: September 29, 2011
Camera-ready workshop papers due date: October 10, 2011
