======================== 13th Francophone International Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Management EGC 2013, January 29 - February 1rst 2013, Toulouse, France http://www.irit.fr/EGC2013 Honorary chair: Fionn Murtagh, University of London Program chair: Christel Vrain, LIFO, Universite d'Orleans, France Local chair: Florence Sedes - IRIT Toulouse - Universite Paul Sabatier Andre Peninou - IRIT Toulouse - Universite Toulouse 2 The 13th conference on Knowledge Extraction and Management (EGC 13) will be held in Toulouse, from January 29 to February 01, 2013. This French-speaking international conference is devoted to theories, methods and applications of data mining, machine learning, knowledge discovery in databases, knowledge management and engineering. It aims at providing a forum for researchers, students and professionals for presenting research results. It allows to bring together experts from both academia and industry for the exchange of ideas and discussion of future challenges in knowledge extraction and management. Several kinds of communications are possible: tutorials, workshops, oral presentations, posters and demonstrations of softwares. Authors are invited to submit original research and application papers (6 or 12 pages) in French or in English (only for non French speakers). Two kinds of submissions are possible: research paper and application paper. Submissions must be anonymous. The papers will be peer-reviewed by at least 3 reviewers. Selection criteria include: relevance, significance, impact, originality, technical soundness, and quality of presentation. At least one author must attend the conference to present the paper. Accepted papers will be published in a special issue of the French RNTI journal "Revue des Nouvelles Technologies de l'Information". Outstanding papers will be honored with a Best Paper Award (associated with a price) for each category (research, application). Furthermore, selected accepted papers will be invited to submit an expanded version for publication in international post-proceedings published by Springer-Verlag, through an expedient review and publication process. Paper submission Submissions are anonymous. They are made through the website of the conference (for more details visit paper submission page on http://www.irit.fr/EGC2013). Papers must be submitted in pdf and use the RNTI Latex format, which can be downloaded at http://www.antsearch.univ-tours.fr/rnti Papers longer than 12 pages or that do not not respect the RNTI Latex format will not be considered.
